Edward was a 'taylor' according to the baptismal record of his son John in 1818.

Edward's wife made a parish relief application in July 1863, and she was termed a widow then.

In 1896 when Edward's son Edward died, Edward senior was recorded as a tailor in his son's death certificate. ⁶

Edward married Rose KELLY on 15 Oct 1813 in St Andrew's RC Chapel, Glasgow, Scotland.¹ (Rose KELLY was born about 1791 in Ireland ⁷ and died after 13 Mar 1871.)

Edward next married Catherine O'BRIEN.² (Catherine O'BRIEN was born about 1795.)
