William was recorded as a blacksmith in his father in law's application for parish relief in 1901.

Later in the application was noted:"..son in law William Rae was in Barlinnie 2 years ago - Drunk & incapable - wife then on So(uth) Side. "


William married Unity QUIGLEY, daughter of John QUIGLEY and Bridget O'DONNELL. (Unity QUIGLEY was born on 6 July 1864 in Anderston, Glasgow, Scotland 1 and died 1901 or later.)
