General Notes: The 1841 census recorded Joan Tait aged 7 months living with her parents and sister at Killsclyitt in Stow Midlothian, the county where she had been born. Joan married George FAIRGRIEVE, son of John FAIRGRIEVE and Jean REDPATH, on 19 Jun 1868 in Killochyett Church of Scotland, Stow, Midlothian, Scotland. (George FAIRGRIEVE was born in Humbie, East Lothian, Scotland and was christened 29 February 1845 in Humbie, East Lothian, Scotland.) Marriage Notes: The marriage was performed after banns according to the forms of the Established Church of Scotland. The minister was David Waddell, Minister at Stow. The witnesses were Robert Fairgrieve and Joseph Tait. Joan next married Margaret WALKER, daughter of George WALKER and Joan BRODIE.1 2 (Margaret WALKER was born on 13 Feb 1814 in Stow, Midlothian, Scotland and died before 19 Jun 1868.)
