Cause of her death was supposed suicide by hanging resulting in instantaneous death.4 Other names for Margaret were McGONIGAL, Margaret 5 and McGONIGILL, Margaret.4 General Notes: The 1881 census for Latheronwheel in Caithness recorded Margaret McGonigal living at Upper Smerill. Her age was noted as 23 years and her occupation as that of domestic servant. Medical Notes: Charles McGonigill, Margaret's father, notified the registrar, Alexander Gunn, of her death on 7 September 1897 and made his X mark. 4 Margaret married Daniel QUIGLEY, son of John QUIGLEY and Jane RAMSAY, on 3 Jan 1708 in Saint Nicholas Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.1 2 (Daniel QUIGLEY was born about 1815 in County Donegal, Ireland and died in 1875 in 49 Gallowgate, Glasgow, Scotland 6.).
