  General Notes:

The 1881 census for Latheronwheel in Caithness recorded Margaret McGonigal living at Upper Smerill. Her age was noted as 23 years and her occupation as that of domestic servant.

Margaret McGonigill was found dead on 1 September 1897. Her death certificate recorded her as a single woman who worked as an agricultural labourer. Her recorded aged at death was 38 years. 4 5

  Medical Notes:

Charles McGonigill, Margaret's father, notified the registrar, Alexander Gunn, of her death on 7 September 1897 and made his X mark. 4


Margaret married Daniel QUIGLEY, son of John QUIGLEY and Jane RAMSAY, on 3 Jan 1708 in Saint Nicholas Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.1 2 (Daniel QUIGLEY was born about 1815 in County Donegal, Ireland and died in 1875 in 49 Gallowgate, Glasgow, Scotland 6.). The cause of his death was chronic bronchitis & cardiac affection.4
