Thomas married Susan McINAIRNEY, daughter of Robert McINAIRNEY and Susan MURPHY, on 13 Nov 1873 in St Patrick's RC Church, Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, Scotland. (Susan McINAIRNEY was born on 28 Apr 1855 in Calderbank, Old Monkland, Lanarkshire, Scotland.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The priest was Michael O'Keeffe CC. The witnesses were William McIntosh and Ellen Murphy.

Thomas Hanlon was a a coalminer by occupation. He was unmarried, aged 22 years, and lived at Bell's Land, New Dundyvan, Coatbridge.

Susan McInairney made her X mark. By occupation she was a domestic servant, was 18 years old and unmarried. Her address was Johnston's Land, New Dundyvan, Coatbridge. Both of her parents were deceased.

The marriage was registered at Coatbridge on 15 November 1873, James Mitchell being the signing registrar.

Note: Susan's parents were dead by the time she married. This may explain the erroneous first name given for her father in the marriage lines. The surname was already recorded in a variety of forms.

  Marriage Notes:

"He (George Ogilvy) married, secondly, Janet, daughter of William Sutherland of Duffus. On 30 July 1629 she complained to the Privy Council of her husband's cruelty to herself and her children, and on that day Sir George was bound under caution of 3000 merks to keep the peace towards Lady Banff and her children, and towards James Sutherland, tutor of Duffus, brother of Lady Banff. By his second wife he had four children."
