Annie Queen was recorded by the 1871 census living with her grandparents and father James at 64 Stewarton Street in the parish of Cambusnethan. She was 11 years old and had been born in Wishaw. She was listed as the daughter of her grandfather, that is she was being brought up by her grandparents as a daughter since the death of her mother and her father's need to work full time. ⁴

Annie married Elizabeth TWEEDLY, daughter of Daniel TWEEDLEY and Rose Ann DUFFY, on 12 Oct 1652 in Saint Nicholas Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.^{1 2} (Elizabeth TWEEDLY was born on 24 Aug 1864 in High Church, Glasgow, Scotland ⁵.)
