The 1851 census for Carluke in Lanarkshire recorded James Queen aged 14 years living with his family at Hunterfield. He had been born in Ireland and was now working as a miner of ironstone.

James Queen was recorded by the 1871 census for Cambusnethan living with his parents and his daughter Annie at 64 Stewarton Street. He was 31 years of age and had been born in Ireland. 2 3


James married Ann CARLAN. (Ann CARLAN was born about 1837 4 and died in 1863 in Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire, Scotland 4.)
