Owen married Catherine DORIS, daughter of Patrick DORIS and Catherine CAUNEN, in 1855 in Newtonforbes, Longford, Ireland.1 (Catherine DORIS was born about 1835 in Ireland 1 and died 17 April 1879 at 4.00 am in 5 Double Brick Row, Carfin, Lanarkshire, Scotland 5.). The cause of her death was vomiting of blood over several months and consumption over 12 months.
