Michael's father, Robert, was the informant of his birth before the registrar at Baillieston on 16 December 1903. He was a coal miner.

Marriage Notes:
The marriage was celebrated after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. Stephen A. L. Thornton was the priest. Thomas Breen of 52 Quarry Road Airdrie, and Elizabeth Dornan of 130 Cairnhill Road Airdrie, were the witnesses.
The bridegroom was an unmarried man of 24 years of age who was a general labourer. He lived at 58 Buchanan Street Baillieston. His mother was deceased.
The bride was unmarried and aged 28 years. She was a drapery shop assistant who lived at 130 Cairnhill Road Airdrie.
The marriage was registered at Airdrie on 27 January 1928.
Note: Stephen Thornton DSO MC was a Glaswegian who served in Lanarkshire parishes before volunteering as a military chaplain on the outbreak of World War I in 1914. So brave was he in attending to the wounded under shell fire that he was awarded the Distinguished Service Order, the DSO. later he was also awarded the Military Cross for taking command when all senior officers and NCOs had been killed. Parish priest of St Margaret's from the mid 1920s, he became Dean Thornton, and was often controversial and provocative. He died in 1937.

"About the year 1406 he (Sir Patrick Graham) married his second cousin Euphemia, Countess Palatine of Strathearn, daughter and heiress of David Stewart, Earl of Strathearn, son of Robert II., and Euphemia Ross, and became in her right Earl of Strathearn. From their son Malise were descended the Earls of Menteith."

"She was married to Patrick Graham, son of Sir Patrick Graham of Dundaff. He appears to have taken the designation of Earl of Strathearn, as appears from a charter cited by Lord Strathallan in his history of the Drummonds, and others in the Register of the Great Seal. He was killed on St. Laurence Day, 10 August 1413, near Crieff, by Sir John Drummond of Concraig, Stewart of Strathearn, in an encounter between them arising out of the Earl's dissatisfaction with Sir John's official duties.''
