General Notes:
Sarah was the second eldest child listed in her mother's 1855 death certificate. Her age was noted as 28 years.
1861 census: Sarah and her husband Thomas MacConachy were living at Commercial Road in the parish of Govan with Sarah's two sisters, Ann and Elizabeth McCormick, and a boarder, Mary Scary. All of them were recorded as born in Ireland, Thomas in County Monachan (sic), the three sisters in Strabane County Tyrone, and Mary in County Sligo. Thomas was 31 years old and worked as an engine fitter. Sarah was 34 years old and was the housekeeper. Ann and Elizabeth McCormick were 30 and 32 years old respectively, and both worked as drawers in a cotton mill. Mary was 20 years old and was a piecer in a cotton mill. Their dwelling had two windowed rooms.
In her death certificate of 1883 Sarah was recorded as 54 years old at the time of death. She was the widow of Thomas McConachie, journeyman engine fitter. Both of her parents were deceased. 4

Robert Doran, surgeon, certified the cause of death.
Jane McCormick, niece of the deceased woman, who had been present where the death occurred, gave notice before the registrar on 13 November 1883.

"He (Robert Arbuthnott) married, secondly, Mariot or Marion Scrymgeour, daughter of Sir James Scrymgeour of Dudhope, Constable of Dundee (marriage-contract dated 10 September 1475).
Both she and her husband seem to have been devout persons. On 30 April 1482, in return for a contribution to the Expedition to the Holy Land against the Turks, they obtained from Brother John Litster of the Minor Brethren of the Observantines in Scotland, and Brother Emir de Hamel of the same order in those parts beyond the mountains, an Indulgence with the form of absolution granted thereupon. In the year 1487 Robert Arbuthnott, dominus ejusdem, and his wife and their issue of both sexes, were received into the privileges of the Order of the Observantines conform to letter of the Vicar-General of the Order, dated at the Convent of St. Maria de Angelis 'apud Tholosam in provincia de Aquitaine tempore generalis capituli super festo Penthecostes' in the said year. In 1491 they obtained under the hand of Julian, Bishop of Ostia, a papal licence dated at St. Mark's, Rome, 9 May, seventh year of the pontificate of Innocent VIII., to have a portable altar for the celebration of Mass and other divine services."
