Esther Charnley's death certificate recorded her as 'married to William Rattray Fish Dealer'. Her age at death was 32 years. Her father was deceased. Her usual residence was noted merely as 'Renfrew'. ³

W. Rattray, widower, of Renfrew, gave notice of Esther's death before the registrar at Paisley on 11 June 1888. ³

Esther married James DONALDSON, son of William DONALDSON and Ann McGRAW, about 1635.¹ (James DONALDSON was born about 1835 in Ireland ⁴ and died 14 April 1888 at 8.25 pm in Baillieston, Lanarkshire, Scotland ⁵.). The cause of his death was heart disease over 6 months and congestion of the lungs over 5 days.³
