   Cause of his death was myocardial degeneration over 14 years and syncope.

  General Notes:

Peter was just an infant, just 3 months old, when the 1871 census for Carluke was taken. Carluke was his birthplace.

The 1881 census for Carluke Lanarkshire recorded Peter Quigley aged 10 years, a scholar. Carluke was his birthplace.

In his 1940 death certificate Peter Quigley was recorded as a 'coal miner married to Mary Riley'. His age was noted as 69 years. He died while out of his home, and his usual residence was recorded as 78 Overtown Road Waterloo. Both of his parents were dead. 5 6

  Research Notes:

Census records tell us Peter was born in Carluke. His siblings from Margaret up were born in Ireland.

  Medical Notes:

Alec Logan MB ChB certified the causes of death.

The son of the deceased, also called Peter Quigley, of 78 Overtown Road , gave notice of his father's death before the registrar, W. Cunningham, at Wishaw on 28 October 1940.


Peter married Mary RILEY on 27 Apr 1893 in Carluke, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 (Mary RILEY was born about 1872.)


  Marriage Notes:

At the time of his marriage in 1893 Peter was aged 22 years. He was from Carluke. Mary was from Waterloo. 1

Peter next married Louis LYNASS, son of John LYNASS and Sarah CAUGHIE.2 (Louis LYNASS was born about 1845 and died after 10 Apr 1866.)


  Marriage Notes:

"He (John Forbes) married, first, Catherine Stewart,second daughter of John, Earl of Atholl, brother of King James II., and had by her one son and one daughter"
