QUIGLEY, Jane

  General Notes:

Jane was a 5 year old when the 1871 census for Carluke recorded her family there. She was the first of the children of James and Mary to not have been born in Ireland. She had been born in the parish of Cambusnethan in Lanarkshire.

The 1881 census for Belstane Mains, Carluke, Lanarkshire recorded a farm servant called Jane Quigley in the household of Thomas and Margaret Forrest, farmers, and their family and servants. Jane had been born in Cambusnethan in Lanarkshire and was aged 16 years. ^{1 2}

Jane married Sarah QUIGLEY, daughter of James QUIGLEY and Mary LEITCH.³ (Sarah QUIGLEY was born on 13 Jul 1867 in Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire, Scotland.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Arthur (Forbes), fifth Lord Forbes...died in 1493, having no issue by his wife Agnes, daughter of John, Lord Glamis, who survived him, was married, secondly, to John Ross of Craigie, and died before April 1529."
