  General Notes:

Thomas and his family were recorded by the 1851 census living in Old Monkland parish, Lanarkshire. Thomas and his wife were 32 years old. John was 10 years old, Samuel was 8 years old, Margaret 6 years old, Sarah 4 years old, Thomas 2 years old, and Mary Jane 1 year old.

The 1871 census for 1 Addies Lane in the parish of Bothwell recorded Thomas, aged 21 years, as a coal miner, the eldest child of the six children living with their parents. His birthplace was noted as Lanarkshire and he was unmarried. ²

Thomas married Mary Jane QUIGLEY, daughter of Thomas QUIGLEY and Mary RALSTON, in 1660.³ (Mary Jane QUIGLEY was born about 1850 and died between 1851 and 1859.)
