The banns of marriage were called and the marriage took place according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church.

Thomas Quigley, widower and cotton weaver, was recorded as aged 27 years. His address was 25 Market Street, Bridgeton. Both of his parents were living.

Mary Pettigrew was an unmarried woman who worked as a cotton winder. She was recorded as aged 21 years. Her address was the same as that of the bridegroom. Both of her parents were already deceased.

The priest who performed the ceremony was E. Noonan. The bride and groom each made an X mark. The witnesses were Peter McErvey and Margaret Campbell, and each of the witnesses made an X mark.

The marriage was registered at Glasgow, on 6 September 1862, the registrar signing being William Sloan, and the senior registrar Alexander Waddel initialled the registration. 2
