   Cause of her death was chronic bronchitis and cardiac failure.

   Other names for Mary were TWEEDLEY, Mary, TWEEDLIE, Mary and TWEEDLY, Mary.

  General Notes:

In the 1881 census Mary Tweedlie was recorded as aged 32 years and had been born in Ireland.

Mary was still living when her husband, Michael, died in 1911.

In 1916, on 24 February, a woman called Mary Judge or Mary Tweedley was found dead at 21 Well Street, Glasgow about 7 am. She was the widow of Michael Tweedley, slater.. She was recorded as aged 64 years.

  Medical Notes:

Because Mary died suddenly an investigation into her death took place. It upheld the findings of the original certifying doctor, Robert Morton MB CM who examined the body when found. The entry in the Register of Corrected Entries (1916 Vol. 6 Page 7) found that Mary died between 11 pm and 7 am at her house at 21 Park Street Glasgow. This was issued by the procurator Fiscal's Office on 25 March 1916.

Catherine Tweedley, the deceased's daughter in law, was the original informant before the registrar on 25 February 1916. Her usual address was noted as 58 Kirk Street Glasgow.


Mary married Michael TWEEDLEY, son of Michael QUIGLEY and Mary NEIL, on 11 July 1870 in St Mary's Chapel, Glasgow, Scotland. (Michael TWEEDLEY was born about 1849 in Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland 1 and died 6 January 1911 at 1.00 am in Woodilee Asylum, Lenzie, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.). The cause of his death was organic brain disease.


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage took place according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church.

Micheale(sic) Tweedley was an unmarried man of 21 years of age who worked as a journeyman slater. His usual residence was 618 Gallowgate Street, Glasgow.

Mary Judge was a pottery worker, aged 22 years, and unmarried. her address was noted as 562 Gallowgate Street Glasgow.

The priest was E. Noonan, and the witnesses were Laurence Kelly, who made his X mark, and Mary Deans, who made her X mark.
