   Other names for Peter were TWEEDLEY, Patrick and TWEEDLY, Alexander.²

  General Notes:

In 1867 Francis Tweedley, widower, married Annie Caldwell. His parents, both of whom were deceased, were recorded as Patrick Tweedley, gardener, and Elisabeth Foster.

Peter was a gardener, according to his son's application for parish relief in 1881.

In his son, Thomson Tweedly's death certificate of 1885, his father was named as Alexander Tweedly. He was deceased, and was noted to have been a farmer. The informant in that certificate was Ann Walker, niece of the deceased. ^{2 3}

Peter married Elizabeth FOSTER, daughter of John FORRESTER and Elizabeth ALEXANDER. (Elizabeth FOSTER was baptised on 25 May 1787 in Stirling, Scotland and died before 12 November 1867.)
