According to the birth certificate of his son Thomas in 1855, Peter Quigley was a labourer, aged 26, and born in County Monaghan, Ireland. The couple were married on October 4 1852 at Glasgow. The informant on this certificate was a neightbour, Alice McGill.

  Research Notes:

Peter may be a son of John Quigley and Catherine Docherty. When their son James died in 1855 his address was recorded a 427 Gallowgate Street Glasgow, just beside where Peter's Quigley's baby was born, and we know that James did have a brother called Peter about the age this Peter Quigley was. Moreover James was born in County Monaghan.

  Medical Notes:

Peter had no medical attendant.

His sister Catherine, who had been present, notified the registrar, James Moore, at Glasgow on Februry 5 1891 of her brother's death and made her X mark. 4

Peter married Bridget DEVINE on 4 October 1852 in Glasgow, Scotland.1 (Bridget DEVINE was born in 1826-1827 in Connaught Province, Ireland and died in 1857-1891.)
