   Cause of her death was general debility over months.2

   Other names for Catherine were RICE, Cathrine 4 and ROAKS, Catherine.2

  General Notes:

The 1851 census for New Monkland, Lanarkshire, recorded Cathrine Rice living with her husband Patrick and her three children aged 6 to 9 years of age as lodgers with a family of McElroys, also from Armagh in Ireland. Cathrine was aged 40 years and had been born in Armagh, Ireland.

Catherine Roaks' death certificate of 1872 recorded her as the widow of Peter Roaks Road Labourer. Her recorded age at death was 78 years. Her father's christian name was not recorded. Both of her parents were deceased. 2 3 4

  Medical Notes:

The cause of Catherine's death was certified by James Paterson surgeon.

John McDonald, a neighbour of the deceased, gave notice of her death before the registrar, William Whyte, at Airdrie on 29 July 1872 and made his X mark. 2


Catherine married Peter ROCKS. (Peter ROCKS was born about 1811 in County Armagh, Ireland 4.)
