In the 1851 census for Kilmarnock parish, Cunningham district, in Ayrshire, Patrick Vallely was recorded living with his family consisting of his wife Catherine and fours sons and two daughters, a lodger Owen Loy (?), and a visitor Rose Doyle. They were resident at 45 Low Glencairn Street, which seemed to be situated near a Toll road and relatively near Riccarton bridge. Some McQuins also born in Ireland were recorded two doors down. Every person in the household was born in Ireland. Patrick's age was noted as 57 years and he was married. He was a general labourer. ²

Patrick married Rose VALLELY. (Rose VALLELY was born about 1800.)

Patrick next married Catherine DOYLE. (Catherine DOYLE was born about 1806.)
