The 1851 census for Kilmarnock recorded the eldest son of Patrick Vallely "Terrance Vallely" (indexed erroneaouly by the GRO as France Vallely). He was aged 22 years, born in Ireland, and worked as a general labourer. Although the age is a bit low, it is clear that he is set as the eldest of the sons and daughters. All the others are included in County Armagh baptisms as the children of catherine Doyle. Only this son appears to have been the son of an earlier partner of Patrick Vallely. 1 2
