   Cause of his death was paralysis over 1 month and 2 days and apoplexy over 1 day.

  General Notes:

The 1851 census recorded John and Letitia Quigley at Campsie parish. John was aged 33 years, Letitia 50 years, young John 10 years, and Francis 7 years respectively.

John's son, also John, died in 1874. In his death certificate his father's occupation was noted as 'printwork labourer'. John Quigley, father, who was present where the death took place, gave notice of his son's death before William Taylor, registrar, at Campsie on 12 May 1874.

In 1876 John was recorded as a printwork labourer in the death certificate of his wife Letitia. He was the informant of her death.

The 1881 census for Campsie recorded John Quigley, a widower, aged 60 years, as the head of his household. He lived with three grandsons at Millar's Land, Main Street. John had been born in Ireland and had been a labourer at a printworks.

At his death in 1882 John was recorded as a 'printwork labourer widower of Letitia Brogan MS Campbell'. His recorded age was 62 years. His father was deceased. 3 4 5 6

John Quigley, grandson of the deceased who was present where the death occurred, gave notice of his grandfather's death before M. Baird at Campsie on 23 June 1882. 4


John married Letitia CAMPBELL on 19 July 1845 in St Machan's RC Church, Lennoxtown, Stirlingshire, Scotland.1 (Letitia CAMPBELL was born about 1801 in Inver Parish, Mount Charles, County Donegal, Ireland 7 and died 30 September 1876 at 9.00 am in Lennoxtown Campsie, Stirlingshire, Scotland.). The cause of her death was general debility.
