The 1851 census for Kilmarnock Ayrshire recorded Matthew McNarnie, a scholar, living with his mother, a widow, and his three siblings. He was recorded as 9 years of age and born in Kilmarnock.

Mathew McAnarny was recorded by the 1861 census for Kilmarnock living in his elderly grandmother's home with his widowed mother and his siblings. He was the second oldest child, recorded as 19 years old, born in Bellshill Lanarkshire. 1 2 3

MATTHEW

A death record for a man called Matthew McInany dated 20 October 1869 is available. The death was registered at Central Distict, Glasgow. The man was recorded as a dock labourer aged 35 years married to Ann Connelly. He died of Typhus at the Fever Hospital in Glasgow. The age is a little out for this Matthew McAnarnay, but no other comparable record has been found for him.

He had a son, also named Matthew, whose birth record is dated 24 March 1870 in Tradeston Glasgow. His parents were named as Matthew McInany and Ann Conley. He died on 29 October 1874 aged 4 years.

No marriage has been found for the couple. 4 5 6
