Elizabeth married Arthur O'NEIL, son of James O'NEIL and Eliza McCANN, on 26 November 1880 in St Mary's Chapel, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland.¹ (Arthur O'NEIL was born on 27 April 1859 in Chapelhall, Bothwell Parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland ³ and died after 31 January 1885.)

The marriage took place after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. John McDonald, RC Clergyman, married the couple. The witnesses were James O'Donnell and Margaret McCann.

Arthur O'Neill was a single man, working as an iron miner. He was 21 years of age and of 62 Broomlands, Paisley.

Elizabeth McGunnigal was a bleachfield worker. She was 20 years old and single. Her address was 12 Broomlands, Paisley.

The marriage was registered at Paisley on 1 December 1880.

Note: Although the bride's mother had died in 1874, the marriage certificate of this couple does not indicate that Mary Ann was deceased by then. All four parents were recorded as if all were living.
