  General Notes:

In 1851 the census recorded Thomas aged 5 years living in Neilston parish where he had been born.

Thomas married Mary COSGROVE, daughter of Patrick COSGROVE and Agnes McLUSKY, on 28 April 1871 in St John's RC Church, Barrhead, Renfrewshire, Scotland.¹ (Mary COSGROVE was born about 1846.)

  Marriage Notes:

John MacGinnis RCC married the couple. The witnesses were Hugh McGlinchy who made his X mark and Mary McGhee.

Thomas Lynch was an unmarried man of 25 years who worked as an iron miner. His address was recorded as Printer's Row, Abbey Landward parish. Both of his parents were alive when he married.

Mary Cosgrove was also marrying for the first time. She was 24 years of age and was a cotton mill worker, and of the same address as Thomas. Both of her parents were deceased.

The marriage was registered at Paisley on 1 May 1871, R. Waterston being the signing registrar. ¹
