Mary married Peter QUIGLEY, son of John QUIGLEY and Rose KEENAN, on 31 December 1855 in St Alphonsus RC Church, Glasgow, Scotland.^{1 2} (Peter QUIGLEY was born about 1835 in County Monaghan, Ireland ^{2 4} and died 28 April 1884 at 1.30 pm in 11 Balmore Street, Possilpark, Glasgow, Scotland ^{4 5}.). The cause of his death was bronchitis followed by pulmonary apoplexy.

Peter Quigly of High Street, Glasgow, was aged 19 years and a painter by trade. He was a bachelor, and had been born and registered in County Monaghan, Ireland. He made his X mark in the register. His father, John, was deceased and his mother still living.

Mary Ann Early was an unmarried woman of 17 years. No occupation was noted. Her present and usual residence was High Street, Glasgow, but she had been born and registered in the County of Leitrim in Ireland. Her mother was deceased and her father still living.

The marriage was a Roman Catholic one, celebrated by M. Neill CC. The witnesses were John Fulton and Sarah Quigly. It was registered at Glasgow on 3 January 1856, William Barclay being the signing registrar. ²
