Rose was recorded as aged 60 years in the 1851 census for Greenock.

Rose Ann Quigley or Welsh was recorded as 98 years old when she died in 1866. Given the date of her son's birth, this would appear to be an exaggerated estimate, similar to that of her husband's when he died. ⁵

Rose married Joseph QUIGLY, son of John QUIGLEY and Margaret O'DONNELL, on 3 July 1828 in St Andrew's RC Chapel, Great Clyde Street, Glasgow, Scotland.¹ (Joseph QUIGLY was born about 1790 in County Derry, Ireland, died 30 September 1855 at 2.15 am in Split Close, New Parish, Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland ⁶ and was buried in Greenock Cemetery, Renfrewshire, Scotland.). The cause of his death was paralysis of 8 months duration.
