  General Notes:

Margaret Twigley was recorded by the 1881 census as being 28 years of age. She lived in Cambusnethan parish with her husband and six children at Burnhall Rows. She was a native of Glasgow.

In 1891 the census recorded her and her family at 1 & 2 Burnhall Row Overtown, Cambusnethan. She was recorded as aged 37 years and born in Cambusnethan. 2


Margaret married John TWEEDLY, son of Edward QUIGLEY and Jane STEWART, on 9 June 1871 in Simpson's Street, Wishaw, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 (John TWEEDLY was born about 1851 in Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire, Scotland and died 22 May 1923 at 8.00 pm in 1 Quarry Road, Waterloo, Wishaw, Lanarkshire, Scotland 4.). The cause of his death was chronic bronchitis and heart failure.


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was conducted according to the forms of the United Presbyterian Church. The minister was R.S. Bruce. The witnesses were Alexander Jamieson and Jessie Linton.

The groom, John, was an unmarried man of 18 years working as a driver in a coal pit. His usual residence was Waterloo, near Wishaw.

The bride, Marget (sic), was also 18 years and unmarried. She was a brickfield worker residing in Wishaw.

Both bride and groom made their X mark in the register.
