FAIRGRIEVE, John
Other names for John were FAIRGREAVE, John and FEARGRIEVE, John. General Notes: John Fairgrieve and his family were recorded by the 1841 census of the village of Crichton in Midlothian. They lived at Sauchland. There were seven of them altogether: John, his wife Jean, and five children whose recorded ages ranged from 1 to 13 years. John himself and the two youngest children were born in Midlothian; his wife Jean and the the other three children were born outside of Midlothian. John worked as an agricultural labourer and his age was recorded in the 40-44 years age range. John married Jean REDPATH, daughter of Thomas REDPATH and Agnes TURNER. (Jean REDPATH was born on 13 March 1806 in Channelkirk, Berwickshire, Scotland and died after 19 June 1868.) |
