FAIRGRIEVE, George
General Notes: The 1871 census for Killochyett in Stow, Midlothian recorded George Fairgrieve living with his wife and children in a dwelling in Edinburgh Road. George, head of the household, was a married man aged 26 years who worked as an agricultural labourer. He had been born in Humbie, Haddingtonshire. George married Joan TAIT, daughter of George TAIT and Margaret WALKER, on 19 June 1868 in Killochyett Church of Scotland, Stow, Midlothian, Scotland. (Joan TAIT was born on 31 October 1840 in Stow, Midlothian, Scotland.) Marriage Notes: The marriage was performed after banns according to the forms of the Established Church of Scotland. The minister was David Waddell, Minister at Stow. The witnesses were Robert Fairgrieve and Joseph Tait. |
