John Glen was recorded in 1881 by the census living in the household of Edward Vallely at 543 Dalmarnock Road Glasgow. He was recorded as the son of Edward and Jessie Vallely. However John Glen was aged 27 years and Jessie only 23 years old!

An illegitimate child called John Glen was born in Calton to Jane Glen on 1873. This may well be him. 2
