Cause of her death was general paralysis over 12 days.5 Other names for Elizabeth were CARMICHAEL, Elizabeth 5 6 and SIMPSON, Eliza.2 General Notes: The 1851 census entry for Dr Duncan Carmichael in Buckie recorded him as a widower, suggesting if accurate that Eliza Simpson was his second wife. Medical Notes: W. Simpson MD certified the cause of Elizabeth's death. Elizabeth married Dr Duncan CARMICHAEL, son of Finlay CARMICHAEL and Margaret REID, on 27 May 1852 in Mills of Rathven, Rathven Parish, Banffshire, Scotland.1 2 3 (Dr Duncan CARMICHAEL was born about 1808,4 died 17 February at 5.00 pm in High Street, Buckie, Banffshire, Scotland 4 and was buried in St Ninian's Cemetery, Chapelford, Enzie, Banffshire, Scotland 1.).
