APPLICATION FOR RELIEF Page 1 In 1920 Peter Nardini made an Application for Relief from the Parish of Glasgow. The phrase "ASM Illness" is scrawled in the top left-hand corner of the application page. The application was made at 11.00 am on 22 December 1920. His address was c/o Diamond, 53 Cadogan Street ( 2 up Mid). A visit was made at 3.15 pm on 27 December 1920. the information provided was as follows: Peter Nardini was born on 14 May 1895 in Italy. He was aged 25 years and a widower. He was a Roman Catholic and worked as a hotel waiter. He had married on 24 December 1915, by declaration, at 67 Oswald Street Glasgow. The proof of marriage quoted "Entry 2980, 1915, Blythswood". His parents were Antonio Nardini, "a Farmer Wkr" (sic) and Costanza Croproni (sic) residing at "Lucca_Per_Barga, Mologno Italy". Peter Nardini's wife's name was Margt. Green, who was born in Bowie or Bowin Street in Rutherglen, the daughter of John Green, a tailor, dead, and Matilda Miller residing at 12 Morris Street, Maryhill, Glasgow. Peter's wife had died on 11 October 1919 in W. Graham Street.(45312) His children were Peter, aged 5, born in W. Graham St on 5 February 1916 (Entry 141/1916 Milton), and John Reginald aged 4, born in the same place, on 3 June 1917 (Entry 575/1917 Milton). Peter applies for children's admission or OtrR. His last employer was Caly. Rly Co. Central Station Hotel and his wage 25/- pw & food. He was a member of Pearl Insur (Friendly Society). He was previously supported by his own earnings. This was his first application. The Parish of Settlement was Glasgow. The application document was signed by Wm Davidson, Assistant Inspector. On 27 December 1920 Peter Nardini was summoned to the Committee.

Matilda Green, his mother in law, gave notice of his death before the registrar at Glasgow on 3 October 1921. On his death certificate Peter's parents were recorded as still living.
