Mary married Charles McCORMICK, son of Hugh McCORMICK and Susan HARRIS, on 12 July 1867 in St John's RC Chapel, Portugal Street, Glasgow, Scotland.1 (Charles McCORMICK was born about 1848 in Glasgow, Scotland 1 2 and died 11 June 1902 at 3.30 am in 22 Braeside Street, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland.). The cause of his death was heart disease over 6 months and dropsy over 4 months.


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The priest was Father John Kerr, one of the Catholic clergymen of St John's Catholic Church, Portugal Street, Gorbals, Glasgow. The witnesses were Patrick Devanny and Rebecca McGhie, both of whom made their X mark.

Charles McCormick was a tobacco spinner. He was a single man of 21 years of age. He lived at 134 Rutherglen Road Glasgow. His mother was deceased.

Mary Howden made her X mark. She was 22 years of age and lived at the same address as the bridegroom. She was unmarried. Mary's father was deceased.

The marriage was registered at Glasgow on 15 July 1867. 1
