  General Notes:

In 1881 the census for Fife recorded Mary Liness living with her husband and family at in Dalgliesh Street in Ferry Port on Craig. Mary was designated a 'labourer's wife' and her age was recorded as 50 years of age. Her birthplace was Ferry Port on Craig.

In her death certificate of 1908, Mary was described as 'widow of Edward Liness seaman'. Her age was recorded then as 75 years. Both of her parents were then deceased. ^{2 3}

William Liness, son of the deceased, gave notice of her death before David White, registrar, on 19 February 1908 at Ferry Port on Craig. His residence was noted as East Lights.

Mary married Edward LYNESS, son of Bernard LYNESS and Ann MONACHAN, on 13 November 1848 in Ferry Port On Craig, Fife, Scotland. (Edward LYNESS was born about 1830 in Ireland ² and died 4 January 1905 at 11.20 am in Dalgliesh Street, Ferry Port on Craig, Fife, Scotland ⁴.). The cause of his death was bruising and extensive effusions of blood about chest over 10 days.
