In the 1868 Shankill parish County Antrim baptism record of his daughter Matilda, Samuel Miller was recorded as a shoemaker.

Samuel Miller was a shoemaker journeyman according to the marriage certificate of his daughter Matilda in 1890.

Samuel Miller was recorded as a shoemaker, and deceased, in the death certificate of his daughter Matilda Green in 1936. ^{2 3 4}

Samuel married Margaret McFARLAND, daughter of Robert McFARLAND and Unknown, on 12 April 1867 in St Michael's Church of Ireland parish, Castlecaulfield, County Tyrone, Ireland.¹ (Margaret McFARLAND was born about 1847 and died before 14 March 1890 ².)
