Henry's death certificate of 1878 recorded that he was a foreman tinsmith, married to Lily Menzies and aged 41 years.

  Research Notes:

Nuneaton Street is near Springfield Rd, in the Dalmarnock area of the east end of Glasgow.

  Medical Notes:

William Mc.G. Burns MD certified the cause of Henry's death.

The informant before James Tait, registrar, at Glasgow, on the day Henry's death occurred, was his brother-in-law, Andrew Farmer, who gave his address as 269 Nuneaton Street, Glasgow. Andrew had been present where the death occurred.


Henry married Lilly MENZIES, daughter of Alexander MENZIES and Jane COWIE, on 29 July 1859 in Regent Terrace, Glasgow, Scotland.1 (Lilly MENZIES was born about 1840 in Glasgow, Scotland 5.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage took place according to the forms of the Presbyterian Church. The officiating minister was John Graham, of Barrack Street Church, Glasgow. The witnesses were David Fleming and Stewart Morison.

Henry, aged 22 years, of 12 Claybrae, Duke Street, Glasgow, was unmarried, and worked as a tinsmith and gasfitter.

Lilly was 20 years old, also unmarried, and of the same address, and worked in a mill.

Both signed the register. 2
