"He (Sir Walter Ker) married Isabel or Isabella, daughter of Sir Andrew Ker of Ferniehirst, before 27 September 1543, on which date they had a confirmation charter in the usual terms of the lands of East Mains of Roxburgh, with the tower and fortalice of the same in the barony of Cessford, and the county of Roxburgh."
