Marriage Notes:
"Hon. Anne Hamilton, married to Sir Patrick Houstoun of Houstoun in the county of Renfrew, Bart., and died 1678, her death being occasioned by a party of soldiers coming to that place during her husband's absence in London, and threatening her at such a rate, that she ordered the portcullis to be let down to keep them out of the house ; but two of her sons being without, she was so terrified at their menaces against her boys, that she fell into a fever which soon carried her off."
