In The Book of Mackay Golval appears also to be the place referred to as Goval, or Galdwall. ¹

Iye married Margaret GORDON, daughter of John GORDON of Sidera and Jannet SYMER.¹ (Margaret GORDON was baptised on 30 May 1613 in Prestonpans parish, East Lothian, Scotland ².)

  Marriage Notes:

"Mackay of Golval, son of William 1st of Bighouse, had sasine of Golval and Strath, 6th March, 1633, m. Margaret, dau. of John Gordon of Sidera, and had issue : - William, of whom follows; Angus, m. Mary, dau. of Walter Innes, Skail, Reay, 20th August, 1670; Christina, m. Donald, son of Neil Williamson Aberach; and Isabella, m. Donald Forbes, Auchentoft."
