The Guild Court duly met on Friday 12th January to receive the silver work belonging to St. Nicholas and the chapels. The men in whose care this was, however \endash Gilbert Menzies elder (the Provost's brother), Gilbert
Collison, Mr. George Middleton, and Gilbert Malison \endash stated that they had received it from the Council rather than from the Guild Court and that it was to the Council that they would return it." (page 37)

Gilbert. Gilbert married Janet Maitland, lawful daughter of Achmordiw, and had issue
by her, Thomas, of Balgonie, who married Janet Gordon, lawful daughter of the laird of Abergeldie."
