"John Forbes died April 11th, 1701, and was succeeded in the occupation of his farm by the third John in Templeton, who married, 1702, Sophia, sister of Mr. Andrew Ker, minister of Rafford, Morayshire (see Note below), and had three sons, Alexander, born 1705, and Harry, born 1716, died young, and John, born 1711, as well as four daughters, Jean, Anna and Barbara, died unmarried, and Elizabeth, born 1714, married William Ferguson, accountant, Edinburgh."
