"John Sibbald, son of Alexander S. of Kair family, and brother of James S., D.D., min. of Aberdeen; educated at Marischal College, Aberdeen; min. about 1630; died unmarr. 22nd Feb. 1662, 'a man of great learning and singular piety, of indefatigable paines in his parochial duties.' He contributed liberally towards a school and bequeathed considerable sums of money for the maintenance of a schoolmaster and to the poor of the parish.
