"James Moir, educated at Marischal College, Aberdeen; M.A. (1624): adm. (assistant) before 16th May 1632; pres. (colleague) by Charles I. 28th March 1633; still min. 19th April 1659; died before Aug. 1661. He marr. Mary Forbes (who survived him and marr. (2) Alexander Garioch of Little Endowie), and had issue William of Hilton, advocate, Edinburgh, 12th Feb. 1664, and principal clerk of Session; Jean (marr. James Moir in Ferryhill. [Aberdeen Sas., ii., 539, 541; (G. R. Inhib., llth March 1676; G. R. Homings, 23rd June 1669.]"
