Jean married Sir Alexander FORBES of Foveran, 2nd Baronet, son of Sir Samuel FORBES 2nd of Foveran, 1st Baronet, MP for Aberdeenshire and Anne UDNY. (Sir Alexander FORBES of Foveran, 2nd Baronet was born in 1683 and died on 10 August 1755.)
Marriage Notes:
"Sir Alexander (Forbes) married Jean, daughter of Major George Skene of Caraidstone (Careston), and had two sons and four daughters : George, an officer in the Dutch Service, died unmarried in September, 1751. He it was who was present at the deathbed of young John Forbes of Waterton in Holland. Alexander died unmarried 1752. Isabel, married 1749 Captain Robert Sutton of the 14th Regiment. Jean, married 1754 Captain James Macfarlane of Beauclerk's Regiment. Elizabeth, married 1755 Archibald Hamilton, M.D., of Edinburgh. Katherine, died unmarried.
Sir Alexander died August 10th, 1755, and was succeeded in the title by his cousin, John Forbes, son of Knappernay, as 3rd Baronet. "
