Anna married Reverend Dr George GORDON Minister of Birnie parish, Naturalist and Geologist, son of Reverend Mr William GORDON Minister of Urquhart parish, Chaplain to 71st Foot regiment and Margaret ANDERSON, on 20 March 1834 in Elgin parish, Moray, Scotland.1 (Reverend Dr George GORDON Minister of Birnie parish, Naturalist and Geologist was born on 23 July 1801, baptised on 6 August 1801 in Urquhart parish, Moray, Scotland 3 and died on 12 December 1893 in Braebirnie, Elgin, Moray, Scotland.)

"George Gordon, bom 23rd July 1801 Son of William G- min. of Urquhart (Elgin), and grandson of Joseph Anderson; educated at Marischal College, Aberdeen; M.A. (3rd April 1819); licen. by Presb. of Elgin 5th April 1825; pres. by Francis, Earl of Moray, before 16th Nov., and ord. 13th Dec. 1832; LL.D. (Marischal College, 19th Nov. 1859); dem. 30th Oct. 1889; died at Braebirnie, Elgin, 12th Dec. 1893. He was distinguished as a naturalist and geologist, and the fossil reptile Hyperodapedon Gordoni was discovered by him and named after him. He added Pinguicula alpina to the list of British flora. Professor Cooper said of him:'He has been a living example of how science can subsist with faith, and how the active mind and the cultivated intellect can flourish in a Scottish manse.'
He marr. 20th March 1834, Anna (died 9th Dec. 1889), second daugh. of James Stephen of Bruceland, Elgin, M.D., and had issue - Jane Anne, born 16th Dec.1835; Anna Maria, born 23rd Dec.1837 (marr.
