"He seems to have quarrelled with the Forbeses of Rubislaw, his relations, as in 1665 William Forbes of Cothellmill becomes surety for Alexander Skene of Dyce, Gilbert, and Mr. Patrick Skene, his brothersgerman, that Robert Forbes of Rubislaw, Thomas, his son, and others, shall be harmless kept." 1


Alexander married Ann JOHNSTON, daughter of Dr William JOHNSTON and Unknown, in November 1652.1 (Ann JOHNSTON was born on 2 March 1636.)

"He (Alexander Skene) married, in November, 1652, Ann Johnston, daughter of Dr. William Johnston of Caskieben; and, on 24th April, 1655, there is a sasine Alexander Skene, younger, of Dyce, and Ann Johnston, his spouse, of the half of the lands of Beildeston"
