General Notes: "He (Alexander Skene) seems to have quarrelled with the Forbeses of Rubislaw, his relations, as in 1665 William Forbes of Cothellmill becomes surety for Alexander Skene of Dyce, Gilbert, and Mr. Patrick Skene, his brothersgerman, that Robert Forbes of Rubislaw, Thomas, his son, and others, shall be harmless kept." Alexander married Anna JOHNSTON, daughter of Dr William JOHNSTON Professor of Mathematics, Marischal College and Youngest Daughter FORBES, in November 1652.1 (Anna JOHNSTON was born on 2 March 1636.) Marriage Notes: "He (Alexander Skene) married, in November, 1652, Ann Johnston, daughter of Dr. William Johnston of Caskieben; and, on 24th April, 1655, there is a sasine Alexander Skene, younger, of Dyce, and Ann Johnston, his spouse, of the half of the lands of Beildeston" |
