Marjory married William COMYN Earl of Buchan, jure uxoris, Justiciar of Scotland, son of Richard COMYN Justiciar of Lothian and Hextilda, between 1209 and 1212.¹ (William COMYN Earl of Buchan, jure uxoris, Justiciar of Scotland was born in 1163 in Moray, Scotland,⁴ died in 1233 in Buchan, Aberdeenshire, Scotland ^{1 4} and was buried in Abbey of Deer, Aberdeenshire, Scotland ^{4 5}.)

"In 1212, he married Marjory, heiress to the earldom of Buchan, and was styled earl of Buchan from that year. With Marjory he had another three sons (Alexander, William, Fergus) and three daughters (Idonea, Agnes, Elizabeth). From this line were descended the earls of Buchan and brought to the family the vast estates of the earldom."

"During his period as Warden of Moray, Comyn was so successful, it may have been the reason he received the hand of Marjory (a.k.a. Margaret), Countess of Buchan, sometime between 1209-1212. Her father Fergus, Earl of Buchan, had no male heirs and so in marrying his daughter to William he ensured a suitable line for his titles before his death."
