Family Records of the Bruces and the Cumyns, by M. E. Cumming Bruce, states that there were two daughters of Alexander, brother of John, 3rd Earl of Buchan, called Marjorie and Alice. The latter married Henry Beaufort. The author names the eldest daughter of Alexander Cumyn, 2nd Earl of Buchan, not Marjorie but Bridget.

Family Records of the Bruces and the Cumyns, by M. E. Cumming Bruce, states that there were two daughters of Alexander, brother of John, 3rd Earl of Buchan, called Marjorie and Alice. The latter married Henry Beaufort. The author names the eldest daughter of Alexander Cumyn, 2nd Earl of Buchan, not Marjorie but Bridget. 3


Margaret married Sir John ROSS, son of William (II) 3rd Earl of Ross and Euphemia DE BERKELEY, in 1309.1 (Sir John ROSS was born about 1279 and died soon after 1309 1.)


  Marriage Notes:

"John Comyn left no children by his wife, but he was succeeded by his nieces..... .... Margaret Comyn, the second daughter of Sir Alexander, received the half of the Earl of Buchan's whole lands in Scotland in tocher on her marriage, about 1309, with Sir John Ross, son of William, Earl of Ross. ..... Sir John Ross died childless, apparently very soon after his marriage, and his widow seems to have married a Sir William Lindsay.

Margaret next married Sir William DE LINDSAY, son of David DE LINDSAY Crusader, Regent of Scotland, High Chamberlain and Margaret.1 (Sir William DE LINDSAY was born about 1269.)


  Marriage Notes:

..... Sir John Ross died childless, apparently very soon after his marriage, and his widow seems to have married a Sir William Lindsay.
