Primary source information about Helen Fullarton's parents is scant. Her father her is shown as per The Red Book of Scotland, but since he also had a son Gideon not mentioned in that source, it may be that Helen was a granddaughter of the elder Gideon.

Helen married John SKENE Burgess of Aberdeen, Deputy-Governor of West Jersey, Quaker, son of Mr Alexander SKENE of Newtyle, 'Bailie Skene', Treasurer in Aberdeen, Quaker and Lilias GILLESPIE Quaker, on 23 December 1669.¹ (John SKENE Burgess of Aberdeen, Deputy-Governor of West Jersey, Quaker was baptised on 14 September 1648 in Ellon parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland ² and died after 1688.)

  Marriage Notes:

"In 1659 John Skene, eldest lawful son to Mr. Alexander Skene, Baillie, is admitted a 'burgess of Aberdeen.' He was also a quaker, and became governor of New Jersey, in America, and died in 1687. He married Helen Fullerton, and a daughter of John Skene, son to Baillie Skene, in Aberdeen, laird of Newtyle, was married, anno 1699 or 1700, to Obadiah Haig, who died on his journey to Jersey.
